Overland Plating is a family-owned and operated business that offers polishing, plating, and refinishing on most items made of metal including firearms, knife and sword parts, jewelry, watches, and automotive and motorcycle parts.

We offer the following finishes:

• Copy chrome (a chrome-looking nickel/cobalt alloy)

We are one of the few companies offering the variety and the ability to do everything in-house and do not out-source. We offer personalized service with the highest quality, the best price in a timely manner. We do every gun by hand, one at a time.

  Overland will be expanding our gunsmithing services, specializing in the popular 1911 platform handguns. The 1911 .45acp pistol is by far the most popular and used handgun ever, with over a dozen companies currently making them and custom parts available for every possible use. With many of our plating customers requesting upgrades on their pistols from a simple trigger job to complete overhauls we will be offering both packages of the most requested upgrades to individual items. There will be additional information on the website in the near future with services offered and prices, but a partial list is; custom triggers, hammers, sears, sights, barrels, complete uppers with new slide and barrel. Full service machining on frames and slides including throating and ramping, serrations front, top and rear. Bobtail modifications. This is just a partial list of what is offered. All work is done by hand using the correct tooling, jigs and measuring equipment necessary to obtain consistent and accurate results. We also have a large inventory of parts from the major parts companies such as Wilson, Brown, Novak and Kings in order to offer quick turnaround time. In addition to repairs and upgrades we will be offering complete custom pistols for sale in states allowed, for California customers where it is not possible to offer custom built 1911`s we will be using Rock Island 1911`s as a base, adding the same parts used on the custom guns except with a highly modified RI frame. The term used is Blueprinting, where all tolerences are brought to the closest possible. This is not possible on production guns because of the time required to do the hand fitting needed. Whether it is to be used as a plinker,  carry or target gun we will be able to offer the same quality at a much lower price.
